Device Link Terms and Conditions

These Subscription Terms (“Terms”) apply to the Smart Device Link Service Add-on (“Smart Device Link Subscription” or the “Service”) offered by Smart Communications, Inc. (“Smart”). These Terms supplement the Smart Postpaid Plans+, Device Plans, or Infinity Plans’ Terms and Conditions, as applicable, Terms of Use, and Privacy Policy available at https://smart.com.ph/Corporate/terms and are deemed incorporated into these Terms. If there is any inconsistency between the terms and conditions listed above and these Terms, as to the Smart Device Link Subscription, these Terms will prevail.

  1. Description of Service

    The Smart Device Link Service Add-on (“Service”) allows Subscribers on Smart Postpaid Plans+, Device Plans, or Infinity Plans (each, a “Postpaid Plan”), to link their existing mobile number to a secondary e-SIM capable wearable device (“Wearable Device”). The Service let the Subscriber make or receive calls, send messages, and use data-dependent services on their Wearable Device, even if their smartphone is not within reach.

  2. Eligibility

    1. The Subscriber must be subscribed to either Smart’s Postpaid Plans+, Device Plans, or Infinity Plan, with an active status. Please refer to Smart Device Link website, https://smart.com.ph/DeviceLink, for a list of eligible Postpaid Plans.

    2. The Postpaid Plan’s credit limit must be able to accommodate the fee for the Service.
  3. Linking of Wearable Devices to Subscriber’s Postpaid Account

    1. Wearable Devices
      1. Subscriber may buy a Wearable Device at any Smart Store or bring his/her own Wearable Device.
      2. Features and/or functionality of a Wearable Device may differ depending on its brand or model. Use of the Service will depend on the available features or functionality of the Wearable Device.
    2. Compatibility of Wearable Devices
      1. Wearable Device must be eSIM compatible. Wearable Device must have the ability to use a cellular network independently. Please check your device manufacturer’s FAQ website to verify the version and cellular network compatibility.
      2. If the Subscriber brought his/her own Wearable Device, it must not be locked to a non-Smart network which will prevent the use of the Service;
      3. Wearable Device and smartphone must be updated to their respective latest software version.
      4. Subscriber must check if the Wearable Device is capable of pairing with his/her smartphone via eSIM. Please refer to Smart Device Link website, https://smart.com.ph/DeviceLink, for a list of devices and manufacturers that is compatible with the Service.
      5. Wearable Devices purchased abroad cannot be guaranteed to be compatible with Smart’s network configuration.
    3. Linking of Wearable Device
      1. Subscriber may avail one (1) Smart Device Link Subscriptions per Postpaid Plan. Each SMART DEVICE LINK Subscription can only have one (1) Wearable Device.
      2. To activate the Service, Subscriber must have an active Postpaid account with sufficient credit limit for add-on purchase, and a MySmart account. Subscriber may create a MySmart account through https://my.smart.com.ph/smart.
      3. Once MySmart account is created, Subscriber may already proceed with the pairing and cellular service setup via their Wearable Device’s app. Please check your device manufacturer’s FAQ website for the step-by-step guide.
      4. Once successful, Subscriber may already use the following services on their Wearable Device even when their smartphone is not within reach:
        1. Send and receive messages;
        2. Make and receive calls; and/or
        3. Use data for wearable apps.
    4. Unlinking of Wearable Device
      1. Subscriber may manage their linked Wearable Device through the wearable app installed on their smartphone. Please check your device manufacturer’s FAQ website for the step-by-step guide.
      2. Subscriber may cancel their Smart Device Link subscription anytime through their Wearable Device or through any of Smart’s customer contact channels. Please refer to Smart Device Link FAQ website, https://smart.com.ph/DeviceLink, for more info.
      3. If Subscriber’s Wearable Device is lost, Subscriber must proceed to any Smart Store to request for Service deactivation.
  4. Use of Service

    1. The Service allow the Subscriber to make or receive calls, send messages, and use data-dependent services on their Wearable Device, even if their smartphone is not within reach.
    2. The Service enables sharing of the Postpaid Plan’s inclusions to the Wearable Device. All usage done through the Wearable Device – such as calls, texts, and data – will be charged to the linked Service plan’s inclusions. Any usage in excess of the existing Service plan’s inclusions will be charged against the Postpaid Plan’s inclusions.
    3. The Service automatically renews every thirty (30) days, subject to a monthly fixed fee.
    4. The Subscriber may cancel the Service anytime. If the Subscriber cancelled the Service in the middle of his/her billing period, the Subscriber will still be able to use the Service until it expires (i.e., on the 30th day from the time the Service was activated or renewed).
    5. The Subscriber may only use the Service for lawful purposes and agrees not to use the Service for any illegal, fraudulent, or unauthorized purpose.
    6. The Service will be suspended in the event the Postpaid account is in redirected status.
  5. Payment and Billing

    1. Smart Device Link Service Add-On shall be billed on top of the Postpaid Plan’s monthly service fee (MSF), or charged against Infinity Plan’s monthly consumable.
    2. The monthly fixed fee for the Service does not include the cost of the Wearable Device.
  6. Lost or Damage of Wearable Device

    The security of the eSIM and the confidentiality of his Personal Identification Number (PIN) as well as the proper care and maintenance of the Wearable Device and/or eSIM shall be the Subscriber's sole responsibility.

    Smart, upon notification of lost Wearable Device, shall immediately unsubscribe the Service. All charges and fees accruing prior to the disconnection shall remain for the account of the Subscriber.

  7. Limitation of Liability

    Smart shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising out of or in any way connected with the use of the Service.

  8. Termination

    Subscriber may opt to terminate the Service anytime. However, charges already incurred will be billed in full and not pro-rated, in case the Service was terminated within the thirty (30) day subscription period.

    Smart reserves the right to suspend or terminate your access to the Service at any time without notice for any reason, including but not limited to violation of these Terms.

  9. Modifications to Terms

    Smart reserves the right to modify or revise these Terms at any time without prior notice. By continuing to use the Service after any changes to these Terms, you agree to be bound by the revised Terms.

  10. International Roaming

    This Service add-on is not eligible for international roaming services.
