PLDT Inc. and Smart Communications, Inc.’s (Smart) value brand TNT showed full support for the comeback of Saulog Tagbilaran, one of the grandest festivals in the province of Bohol.
"Saulog Tagbilaran is truly a remarkable festival in Visayas. We are thankful to the city government for allowing TNT to be the telco partner of the festival, ensuring Tagbilaranons enjoy the best network experience and epic perks and entertainment," said Lloyd Genesiran, corporate and festival events lead at Smart.
Saulog Tagbilaran is Tagbilaran City’s annual fiesta celebration in honor of its patron saint, Sr. San Jose. Following three years of virtual celebration, the festival returned with more exciting face-to-face activities to welcome back tourists and guests, boosting the recovery of the city’s tourism industry.
TNT provided merchandise and connectivity support to various events, such as the Saulog Tagbilaran 2023 Grand Launching and the return of Saulog Street Dancing and Ritual Showdown. TNT also powered the Mutya sa Tagbilaran 2023, in which Smart Marketing FVP and Group Head Melvin Nubla served as an official judge.
"Saulog Tagbilaran became successful because of our partners’ solid support. We sincerely express our gratitude to TNT for the surprises and entertainment they prepared for our people. Their love and support for Tagbilaran City is unmatched," said Tagbilaran City Mayor Jane Yap.
Locals and guests were also treated to more special performances and prizes during TNT Night, with guest performer Filipino boy group BGYO.
To fast-track SIM Registration among Boholanos, TNT also deployed facilitated SIM Registration booths around the city where festivalgoers sought assistance registering their Smart and TNT SIM cards.
"We have been working so hard and making several efforts to ensure that all TNT and Smart subscribers in the city will register their SIMs before the deadline. The city government of Tagbilaran has been supportive of all our SIM Registration efforts in their barangays and schools during the festival," added Genesiran.
With the extension of the SIM Registration deadline, Smart and TNT are intensifying initiatives to help their subscribers comply with the SIM Registration Act by bringing more assisted registration desks closer to the public, including activations at festivals. These efforts underscore Smart and TNT’s commitment to support the government’s SIM Registration drive, to protect Filipinos from text scams and other SIM-enabled criminal activities.
