Smart powers up 8th Smart Spike Volleyball Tournament

As volleyball fever continues in the Philippines, leading mobile services provider Smart Communications, Inc. (Smart) powers up the Smart Spike Volleyball Tournament happening this month.
Now on its 8th year, this grassroots volleyball event showcases the talents of over 40 school teams from across the country. Fans will be able to witness this exciting season of competitive play, with games being livestreamed on PusoP.Com, Smart Sports, and Puso Pilipinas social media platforms.

The Smart Spike volleyball tournament has become a cornerstone for developing young athletes, providing a platform for school teams to showcase their skills and passion for the sport.

"We are proud to continue our support for the Smart Spike volleyball tournament. At Smart, we believe that sports is a powerful tool for nation-building and that developing young athletes is crucial for the future. This tournament not only showcases the incredible talent of our youth but also fosters a sense of community and sportsmanship," said Jude Turcuato, Head of Sports at PLDT and Smart.

This year, the tournament features several divisions, including the 18&Under Girls Prime Division, 18&Under Girls Homegrown Division, 18&Under Boys Division, and the 14&Under Girls Division.

In the 18&Under Girls Prime Division, teams from Chiang Kai Shek College, Canossa Academy Lipa, San Felipe Neri Catholic School, NU Nazareth School, De La Salle Medical & Health Sciences Institute, Ateneo De Manila University, Gracel Christian College Foundation, Immaculada Concepcion College, and Holy Trinity Academy will compete for the top spot.

The 18&Under Girls Homegrown Division will see participation from Marist School, Assumption Antipolo, Immaculate Concepcion Academy - Greenhills, Domuschola International School, International Christian Academy, Assumption College, Makati Hope Christian School, Colegio De Los Baños, De La Salle Santiago Zobel, St. Scholastica's Academy Marikina, San Gabriel Elementary School, and Army's Angels Integrated School.

In the 18&Under Boys Division, teams from Marist School, Chiang Kai Shek College, Canossa Academy Lipa, Colegio De Los Baños, San Felipe Neri Catholic School, Mystical Rose School of Caloocan, Ateneo De Manila University, Immaculada Concepcion College, and Sto. Nino Catholic School will battle it out.

The 14&Under Girls Division will feature teams from Assumption Antipolo, Immaculate Concepcion Academy - Greenhills, Canossa Academy Lipa, Everest International Academy Manila, Assumption College, Makati Hope Christian School, St. Paul College of Pasig, De La Salle Santiago Zobel, San Felipe Neri Catholic School, The Cardinal Academy, Jubilee Christian Academy, St. Scholastica's Academy Marikina, and De La Salle Lipa.

Since its launch in 2017, Smart Spike Volleyball Tournament has grown into a premier sporting event, providing a platform for student athletes to showcase their talents to a wider audience. Even during the pandemic, Smart Spike remained committed in their goal by holding online volleyball camps to help athletes train in their homes.

This year’s tournament is presented by Smart, through Smart Sports, and co-presented by Meralco. Fans can stay updated on schedules and results by following Smart Spike on Facebook.
