For Monesa Ayao-Sale, leading the Datu Odin Sinsuat (DOS) Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (MDRMMO) is both a challenge and an opportunity to do more for disaster preparedness. Sale’s remarkable leadership not only brings growth and opportunities for her team but also sets a powerful example of resilience, highlighting the significant impact of women in shaping collective safety and well-being in the community.

"I am thankful to lead a team that respects women's voices, ensuring that women have meaningful participation in disaster management. This openness has enabled us to execute our plans seamlessly and foster robust ties with other sectors in the community," Sale said.

In her five years leading the MDRRMO, Sale has found a balance between her personal and professional life. At work, she organizes training sessions and awareness programs and closely coordinates with local authorities to ensure proper information dissemination. At home, she enjoys being a loving wife to her husband and mother to her 2 children.

In 2023, PLDT and Smart donated a Ligtas Kit, which has helped strengthen the MDRRMO’s capacity to prepare for and respond to disasters. Recently, the Office of Civil Defense - BARMM applauded the DOS MDRRMO's continuous efforts in ensuring the safety of each member of the community during calamities. "The team will never stop seeking opportunities to strengthen our preparedness and response capabilities, making it available to everyone regardless of gender and status," Sale shared.

Sale's story is a testament to how women can thrive and create a positive impact even in male-dominated fields. Her dedication to creating a more resilient community inspires women who want to make a difference in society. "May we all continue to become agents of an inclusive workplace where anyone thrives. Let's bring our dedication and commitment wherever we go,” Sale added. [END]
