In the fast-paced world of telecommunications, where change is the only constant, there exists a story of hard work and dedication by one of the company’s loyal employees.

Naoemi Fuentes, a Service Surveillance and Assurance Specialist under Smart’s Network Service Operations, has been with the company for 24 years. From the early days of analog communications to the cutting-edge era of 5G, she has been witness and a contributor to the evolution of telecoms.

For work, she often lends support to various departments such as the Sales team. “Doing my job well means enabling seamless connectivity for our customers, thereby enabling Smart to remain number 1,” she emphasized.

Affectionately called by her colleagues as “24/7”, Naoemi is known for being reliable in addressing the concerns of her internal partners, especially during big events such as the Sinulog Festival and other Visayan celebrations.

Beyond the demands of her role, she is also an avid participant of Smart’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programs. She has also been acknowledged by Smart as a “Learner of the Year” after completing more than 100 online courses in 2023, aligning her skills with her current role.

Naoemi is able to gracefully balance her life as a mother, wife, and an engineer. Her secret? “Time management is key. I must ensure that I am able to attend Sunday Mass and pray with my children, in spite of my hectic work schedule.”

Naoemi views her work as a "savior" for countless of times, providing her with steadfast support and strength: a pillar that she and her family could rely on., She was able to send her siblings to school, as well as personally grow financially and professionally. Despite facing personal challenges, Naoemi's resilience is rooted in the fact that she truly enjoys her work and feels that her contribution is greatly valued by her colleagues.

As her journey continues, she hopes for more years to be with her familyand with Smart: “In sickness and in health, in the good times and bad, Smart is among my life’s constants and truly my greatest blessing,” she said. [END]
