PLDT Inc.’s wireless unit Smart Communications, Inc. is helping the Mandaue City Philippine National Police Women and Children Protection Desk (WCPD) set up their direct hotlines to accept reports and complaints of violence and other crimes against women and children.  

To boost Mandaue City Police’s efforts in creating direct access for their constituents, especially women and children, Smart has provided the agency with smartphones and prepaid load. Hotline banners were also provided to the designated police stations to promote and increase the visibility of 'Aleng Pulis' hotlines. 

“In our community programs, we strive to uphold inclusivity and support initiatives that assist women, children, and the marginalized sectors. Our partnership with Mandaue City PNP WCPD underscores this commitment. Smart is truly honored to partner with you,” said Marylou Gocotano, head of Visayas Relations - Stakeholder Management at PLDT and Smart. 

In addition, Smart has also enabled seamless communication and coordination among officers of WCPD and its constituents via Smart Infocast, a free online-based text-broadcasting platform that offers easy and convenient ways in disseminating validated information. To date, thousands of Filipinos and their communities are now connected via Infocast, including Mandaue City PNP WCPD.
