Misamisnon scholars are provided with free load subsidy to help them stay connected for online learning.
PLDT wireless unit Smart Communications, Inc. (Smart), in partnership with the provincial government of Misamis Oriental, recently donated 1,000 SmartBro LTE pocket WiFI devices to Misamisnon scholars. To ensure that scholars will be able to stay connected amidst distance learning, they will also receive load subsidy.
The Smart Bro pocket wifi devices will allow the Misamisnon scholars to connect to the nationwide Smart LTE network. Smart LTE is present across all cities and municipalities of Misamis Oriental, while Smart 5G is present in its capital city Cagayan de Oro, as well as in the towns of Balingasag, Claveria, Gitagum, Jasaan, Laguindingan, Manticao, Medina, Naawan, Opol, Salay, Tagoloan and Villanueva.
21-year-old education student Jessa Jane Madronero struggles a lot with online learning because of the need for connectivity. “I am so happy for the connectivity support from Smart and the Misamis Oriental LGU. The WiFi device and load subsidy will be a huge help for my studies,” she said.
