Smart Communications, Inc. (Smart) together with PLDT and Smart Foundation, Inc. (PSF) have extended more aid to the municipality of Limasawa in Southern Leyte. The municipality has received 800 relief packs to assist more residents who are still recovering from typhoon Odette’s devastation.
Smart has also provided the municipality with tourism blocks that will greet tourists and visitors entering the island via Brgy. Triana Seaport. This initiative aims to boost the island’s tourism sector and help open more livelihood opportunities to their locals.
“On behalf of the people of Limasawa, I would like to extend my heartfelt gratitude to Smart for all the help they have extended to our island after Odette. And with these tourism blocks, we will also be able to further our tourism and encourage more tourists to visit our island,” says Limasawa Municipal Mayor Melchor Petracorta.
The turnover activities were joined by the following: Limasawa Municipal Mayor Melchor Petracorta, Limasawa Tourism Officer Remigilda Salomon, Smart Customer Development Manager-Eastern Visayas Joseph Janus Asis; Smart Trade Marketing Supervisor John Traya; and Smart SMMT Specialist Jerma Pascual.
