Smart Communications, Inc. (Smart) has provided communication support to the municipality of Balamban in Cebu through Project Hotline, Smart’s dedicated wireless solution that provides additional communication channels to LGUs to help them stay connected with their constituents, especially during disasters and emergencies.

“On behalf of the people of Balamban, we thank Smart for providing us with hotline numbers that people can call whenever there is an emergency. This is a very big help in maintaining the peace and order in the community,” says Balamban Municipal Mayor Alex Binghay.

The municipality has received a hotline kit from Smart inclusive of a free smartphone device with load allocation for up to six months and hotline banners to be installed in the key areas of the town.

PLDT and Smart’s efforts to provide connectivity for all underscore its commitment to help the country attain the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, particularly SDG No. 11 on Sustainable Cities and Communities.
