Cathy Cultura, Smart Territory Sales Supervisor, is a formidable woman with a contagious smile and an infectious laugh. She handles the training of partners and forging relationships with communities that Smart serves in the Caraga and Davao Regions. With this huge ground to cover, her job can be daunting, but she’s determined to reach her goals. 

“Interacting with customers who have different personality types entails a lot of patience and determination. As a woman, sometimes it’s not that easy to get my message across and be noticed. You must be strong-willed, committed, and focused,” Cathy shares. 

With more than 16 years at Smart under her belt, Cathy highlights the importance of maintaining strong relations with both internal and external partners as a key ingredient to getting the job done. “In this challenging career, having good working relationships within my team is crucial,” she adds.

Cathy’s commitment to her work is admirable, but her devotion to the communities she engages with is inspiring. Always among the first to volunteer for the company’s CSR activities, Cathy joined PLDT & Smart’s relief efforts after Super Typhoon Odette devastated the Caraga Region last December. Before this, Cathy also organized the Surigao City distribution of relief aid under the MVP Group’s Tuloy Pa Rin Ang Pasko movement.

Beyond having a good professional career, Cathy believes that active participation in society makes her even more fulfilled as a woman. “Aside from the home, women nowadays are taking active roles both in the workplace and in the community,” Cathy says. “An empowered woman has self-worth and self-confidence. She knows what she wants to achieve and she’s doing what she can to achieve it.” 

Cathy personifies what an empowered woman is all about. True to what she believes in, she continues to be a strong but nurturing force for her family, her team and her community.
