Smart continues to support Misamisnon schools

Five schools in Misamis Oriental are the latest beneficiaries of Smart Communications, Inc.’s (Smart) education program. Smart recently turned over WiFi devices, TNT 5G-ready SIMs, learning supplies and Smart Infocast, an SMS broadcast service that will enable students to receive timely updates from their schools.

“We are happy to receive these communication tools from Smart. We are very thankful for this partnership and hope that more schools will be added as recipients of this program,” said Principal Melende Catid of Alubijid National Comprehensive High School.

Marites Pacatang of Misamis Oriental National High School shared, “It is really good that we are partnering with Smart, especially for our continued distance learning. With SIMs, gadgets, and Smart’s reliable connectivity, we can deliver our lessons to our students.”

Josh Dael, Smart’s Community Development Specialist, shared, “We are one with the Department of Education in empowering schools through digital solutions that allow them to connect with their learners and stakeholders. We believe that no children should be left behind, so we hope to connect more learners and teachers this academic year.”

These initiatives highlight PLDT and Smart’s advocacy for digital inclusion through Information and Communications Technology, to ensure that there is #NoLearnerLeftBehind. These also underscore the PLDT group’s commitment in helping the Philippines achieve the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals No. 4 on Inclusive Quality Education.
