Smart conducts its second batch of Rice Together feeding program with Philippine Business for Social Progress (PBSP) in partnership with Mondelez Philippines, Inc.'s Joy Schools Program. A total of 300 pupils from Don Galo and Fourth Estate Elementary Schools in Paranaque City, and Balara Elementary School in Quezon City have benefited from the program.

Launched to help the country combat malnutrition, each beneficiary receives a food pack containing 2 kilos of rice on top of the vegetable packs provided by Mondelez Philippines every week. Smart sources the rice packs from its supported farming communities in Pangasinan through its Buy Local program on agriculture. The Joy Schools program is celebrating 11 years this 2022, having adopted 19 schools nationwide since 2011.





Initiated in January, the feeding program from Smart will run for 20 weeks.

Driven by its CSR advocacies on Livelihood and Nutrition, Smart aims to help address stunting and malnutrition among children, while providing local rice farmers with sure access to market. These initiatives emphasize the commitment of PLDT and Smart to the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG no. 2: Zero Hunger, and SDG no. 3: Good Health and Well-Being.
