PLDT and its wireless unit Smart Communications, Inc. (Smart) have donated Smart Bro Pocket WiFi devices to the Municipality of Oslob in Southern Cebu to boost the local government’s COVID-19 response and disaster preparedness initiatives.
“PLDT and Smart always look for ways to partner with LGUs especially that we are still dealing with the pandemic and the destructions brought by Typhoon Odette. We are grateful for the opportunity to support LGUs like Oslob in their fight against COVID-19 by ensuring that their offices and key touchpoints are equipped with reliable connectivity, enabling them to quickly attend to the needs of their constituents in these trying times,” says Lailane Husain-Go, Smart Regional Customer Development Senior Manager.
These connectivity devices will be distributed to Oslob’s Rural Health Unit, DSWD-KALAHI, MDRRMO, and Oslob District Hopistal to allow seamless online transactions in these offices.
The turnover was joined by Oslob Municipal Administrator Maria Kristina Merlinda Tumulak-Manliges, Oslob Public Information and Local Youth Development Officer Aristeo Puson, PLDT Enterprise Relationship Management Executive Clyde Maru, and Smart Customer Development Manager Jeremiah Dato-on.
