In the wake of the devastation caused by Typhoon #OdettePH, PLDT and its wireless unit, Smart Communications, Inc.(Smart) have launched an SMS donation facility to enable more to send aid to affected communities.
Open to all Smart, Sun and TNT customers, the Text-to-Donate service allows mobile phone users, wherever they are in the world, to send donations using their postpaid account or prepaid load. Target beneficiaries include communities hard-hit by the recent storm.
To donate using a Smart, Sun, or TNT number, customers may send the following key phrases to 3456:

Proceeds will be used to provide aid in the form of connectivity and care packs for beneficiaries in Odette-hit areas. The service also complements the ongoing donation drive of the group’s social outreach arm, PLDT-Smart Foundation (PSF) in collaboration with PayMaya.
To date, PLDT and Smart, together with partners, have mobilized communication as aid in the form of Libreng Tawag, Charging and Wifi services, satellite phone equipment, and food packages to local government units and response teams.
