Smart Communications, Inc. (Smart) and Digitel Mobile Philippines, Inc. (DMPI) through its brand Sun Cellularhave restored network coverage in 100% of the towns and municipalities in Antique, Bohol, Cebu, Guimaras, Negros Occidental, Negros Oriental, and Southern Leyte that were affected by Super Typhoon Yolanda.

The companies have also restored services in Buruanga, Aklan and Alang-Alang, Leyte, bringing restoration to these provinces to 95% and 63% respectively.

To date, Smart and DMPI have restored network coverage to 89% of cities and municipalities in the Visayas.

Smart has also resumed retail store operations at the Asia Star Hotel on Zamora Street in Tacloban City.  The temporary site is about 30 meters away from the Smart Retail Store, which has sustained major damages because of Typhoon Yolanda and is now undergoing repair. The temporary site opened to the public last November 27 and serves affected subscribers for temporary lifting of accounts, SIM replacement and other customer assistance.
