    Smart Infinity raises funds for social change

    Smart Infinity, along with PLDT-Smart Foundation and One Meralco Foundation, presented “Love in Abundance: An Outpouring of Blessings,” a dinner-concert staged to raise funds for Caritas Manila’s youth scholars.

    The benefit, which featured the inspirational music of composer and musician Ryan Cayabyab, was held at the Grand Ballroom, Shangri-La at the Fort, Bonifacio Global City. The show, directed by Floy Quintos, featured performances by Bo Cerrudo, Celeste Legaspi, Bituin Escalante, Esang De Torres and Basil Valdez accompanied by the Philippine Philharmonic Orchestra.

    “We are very grateful to Smart Infinity, PLDT-Smart Foundation and One Meralco Foundation for their valuable support to our efforts,” said Caritas Manila Executive Director Rev. Fr. Anton CT Pascual.

    Youth Servant Leadership and Education Program (YSLEP) is the flagship program of Caritas Manila, which extends financial assistance to poor but deserving students and trains and hones the youth not only for academic excellence, but also to become responsible members of the community.

    To date, Caritas Manila has produced over 10,000 graduates and continues to provide educational assistance, values formation workshops and leadership trainings to almost 5,000 students nationwide with an average of 300 college and technical/vocational graduates yearly.

    Smart Infinity gives back through charities

    Steadfast in its commitment to provide world-class and exclusive services to the Filipino people, Smart Infinity goes beyond being a premium service provider by enabling its members to “Lead The Change.” Recently, the premium postpaid brand of Smart Communications Inc. hosted a private lunch honoring several subscribers at The Peninsula Manila. Smart Infinity took the opportunity not only to thank its loyal members, but also shared its advocacy to create positive opportunities for change for the Filipino community.

    During the event, Smart Infinity extended its support to the Kalipay Negrense Foundation and Feed The Children Inc., on behalf of its members.

    The Kalipay Negrense Foundation Inc. was founded to help the growing number of disadvantaged children in Negros Occidental. What is a now non-profit foundation working for the causes of disadvantaged children—the homeless, physically and sexually abused, malnourished, out of school and youngsters with special needs—started as an effort of a group of people who wanted to make a difference in the lives of these kids.

    “Kalipay Negrense’s story is one that’s filled with miracles. We give disadvantaged children hope and a home. At Kalipay, these children are rehabilitated and educated to have a second chance in life and grow up to become productive citizens. We have rescued toddlers who have been so abused they could hardly walk. But there is always hope. We are very thankful to Smart Infinity and Raul and Joanna Francisco,” said Jay Abello, who represented the Negros Occidental-based organization.

    “Our family, even our children, is involved with Kalipay Negrense. I am very proud to represent Smart Infinity, which leads the change and believes in things that matter,” said Joanna.

    Donnie and Crickette Tantoco, on the other hand, supported Feed the Children, a nongovernment organization with this mission of ending hunger among children worldwide. The Tantocos are also Smart Infinity brand ambassadors.
    Since 1984, Feed the Children has worked with kids in the Philippines, expanding their work beyond meals to developing community independence.
    Smart Infinity also enjoined its subscribers present at the event to help the two non-profit organizations in any way they can.
