Smart supports the Department of Education's program to prepare school facilities for the opening of classes.
PLDT wireless unit Smart Communications continues its longstanding support for the Department of Education’s (DepEd) Brigada Eskwela program, an initiative that mobilizes individuals and organizations to do repairs, maintenance work, and cleanups of public elementary and secondary schools.
In time for this year’s opening of classes, Smart extended financial aid for the maintenance and facilities improvement of six public schools on Boracay island – Boracay National High School, Manocmanoc Elementary School, Manocmanoc National High School, Lamberto H. Tirol National High School, Balabag Elementary School, and Yapak Elementary School.
Smart has been supporting the DepEd program for more than a decade. The company has encouraged its employees to volunteer their time and skills to help different public schools.
