[30 May 2012/ Manila] In line with its advocacy to promote the spirit of technology entrepreneurship among the youth, IdeaSpace Foundation, Inc. (IdeaSpace) through Smart Communications, Inc. (Smart) is holding the 1st IdeaSpace: #Technopreneurs Bootcamp in Ateneo de Manila University this June 2. Similar events are lined up for De La Salle University, University of the Philippines and other colleges and universities around the country.

Students, teachers and alumni from the university are teaming up to come up with possible innovative technology ideas that have the potential for commercial success.

IdeaSpace: #Technopreneur Bootcamp @Ateneo De Manila is the first in a series of events for the promotion of technology entrepreneurship in the academe. Speakers from different industries as well as technopreneurs and venture capitalists will be on hand to share their expertise on topics ranging from the latest technologies, tips on how to start technology businesses, funding opportunities and other start-up advocacies.

Guided by mentors, teams will be given time to brainstorm, create a prototype application and pitch their ideas and plans to a group of judges. The best ideas will be recognized and awarded at the end of the session.

Team presentations will be judged according to market need, team execution, innovation, and industry synergy. Technology ideas can cut across various industries such as telecommunications, power, infrastructure, media, healthcare, agriculture, manufacturing, energy, mining, ICT and the like.

The IdeaSpace #Technopreneur Bootcamp series is a vehicle for IdeaSpace and Smart to bring down to the community level the advocacy for successful technopreneurship. More than just technology, collaborative participation and innovation in all fronts are the keys to transforming ideas into reality.

This event is open to Ateneans--college and post graduate students, faculty members, and recent alumni (graduated on or after March 2010). For the complete event details, mechanics and how to register, please visit  smart.com.ph/ideaspace.
