Mobile services provider Smart Communications, Inc.  in partnership with the Department of Tourism, gave music lovers a glimpse of our 5G-powered future with Acces5Granted, a groundbreaking 360 multi-venue concert experience for subscribers.

Streamed on the 5G.Smart website and Smart’s YouTube channel, Acces5Granted brought together top musical acts including UDD, She's Only Sixteen, Brigada, DJ Aryan Magat, and Michael Pacquiao, who performed from two stages - one in Intramuros, Manila, and the other in Boracay Island in Aklan.

Though hundreds of kilometers apart, Acces5Granted showed the artists collaborating and interacting with their peers seamlessly without, made possible by the ultrafast speeds and ultra-low latency of Smart 5G.  The 360 format of the concert also enabled viewers to fully immerse in the performances and the two venues by simply panning around the video on their smartphones or computer screens.

Groundbreaking ways to enjoy content

The event is an innovative showcase of the capabilities of 5G in providing a much more immersive entertainment by streaming videos from multiple outdoor venues without wires. Prior to 5G,  performances like this could only be pulled off inside studios with need for wired connection.

"5G is more than just a new network - it is also powerful platform that opens up new possibilities for us to enjoy content and experience our favorite digital activities," said Jane J. Basas, SVP and Head of Consumer Wireless Business at Smart.

"Acces5Granted is a peek into the leveled-up entertainment we can expect with Smart 5G. We've only scratched the surface on what 5G can do, and we look forward to unlocking more experiences that bring us closer to our passions as we roll out Smart 5G across the country.  This goes hand in hand with our continuous network improvement efforts to stay ahead of Filipinos' increasing digital needs," she added.
