SMART, MIAA give grand welcome to OFWs
[OCTOBER 20, 2008/Manila] - Smart Communications, Inc. (SMART), in partnership with the Manila International Airport Authority (MIAA), is holding the “Smart Pinoy OFW Grand Salubong sa NAIA”.
From October 20, 2008 to January 27, 2009, all arriving Filipino passengers at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport terminals 1, 2 and 3 will get a chance to “pick-a-prize” and get instant premium items. They can also join the Grand Raffle Draw and get a chance to win more exciting prizes, including a brand-new Isuzu Crosswind XTi, on February 10, 2009!
Those who want to check their mails or surf the Internet can also do so for free via Smart Bro computer stations set up at the airport.
In addition, Filipino passengers arriving at the NAIA Terminal 1 can also play the “Daily Chance to Win a Car” game at the Smart Pinoy booth set up at the waiting area.
“We’ve been with Filipinos at their loneliest abroad, when we help bridge the distance between them and their families with convenient, reliable and affordable Smart Pinoy products and services. We certainly want to be with them at their happiest, when they are reunited with loved ones. The ‘grand salubong’ is our contribution to a happy homecoming and our way of recognizing the sacrifice that they make to provide a better life for themselves and their families,” said Danilo J. Mojica, head of SMART’s wireless consumer division.
This is the second consecutive year that SMART is holding the Smart Pinoy OFW Grand Salubong at NAIA. Last year, SMART also staged a grand welcome for returning Filipinos with fun, games and instant prizes.
This year, arriving passengers not only get to pick a prize, they can also join the Grand Raffle Draw by registering their SMART SIMs at the Smart Pinoy booth set up at the airport to automatically earn one electronic raffle entry. Passengers may increase their chances of winning by earning one electronic raffle entry for every Smart international usage (IDD, international SMS, international MMS, international video call, international voice SMS and roaming). Winners will be drawn on February 10, 2009.
Filipino passengers as well as foreign nationals who log on to the SMART network at the NAIA Terminal 1 can also play the “Daily Chance to Win a Car” game. All they have to do is go to the Smart Pinoy booth at the waiting area and try their luck in breaking the 5-digit code to win a brand new Isuzu Crosswind XTi.
