Going back to school the ‘smart’ way
[June 9, 2009/ Manila] - Leading service provider Smart Communications, Inc. (SMART) understands how important it is to handle finances wisely even as a student, and offers young people various services that will help them keep their budget and allowance in check. One such service is Smart Money, dubbed “Pambayad ng Bayan.”
Smart Money is a re-loadable payment account very similar to a debit or cash card. When linked to a celphone, Smart Money allows the subscriber to manage his/her money wherever they are, whenever they want, with just a few clicks on a celphone.
To students, Smart Money offers all the features and benefits one may need in an all-in-one payment tool. They can receive allowance from their parents, transfer funds to friends, and pay bills -- all with the speed of sending an SMS. They can use their Smart Money Card to withdraw from Megalink, BancNet, Expressnet ATMs nationwide. They can shop in the malls and use it in millions of stores worldwide where MasterCard is accepted.
Each Smart Money phone transaction costs only P2.50, done in real time, and comes with a confirmation sent through SMS – making Smart Money truly affordable, convenient, and secure.
Students may also purchase airtime load using their celphone’s Smart Money Menu and load the amount straight to a prepaid account. Phone credit reloading through Smart Money is as easy as 1-2-3, and is done with just a few clicks through a menu-based transaction.
As a special school opening treat and until 31 July 2009, everyone can enjoy 10% bonus load every time they reload a SMART prepaid account through Smart Money. If one loads P15 through Smart Money, the load receiver will be credited P16.50; a 200-peso load gets P220 worth of airtime!
Reloading a Smart Money account is just as easy. Aside from receiving transfers from another Smart Money account, they can go to any SMART Wireless Center, Smart Money Loading Station, and Banco de Oro outlet all over the country to ‘put cash’ into their Smart Money account. They can also choose to enroll their bank accounts into mobile banking, then link that bank account to their Smart Money account – to make real-time cash transfers with just a few clicks on a celphone.
Those without a Smart Money account yet may apply for it -- application is open to anyone aged 12 years old and above. For a one-time processing fee of just P30, they can enjoy the benefits of smarter, electronic transactions. The application process is simple and does not require financial documents and annual membership dues. Online application is also available via www.smart.com.ph/money. Membership is renewable every 5 years.
When students juggle academics and other school activities, the last thing they need is to worry about finances. The convenience and security offered by Smart Money makes it possible for them to have that much needed financial peace of mind.
