SSP Website of the Month (September): Moalboal National High School
Community Choice Awardee: Mandaue City Comprehensive National High School
In their school website, teachers and students of Moalboal National High School (NHS) showed their technology and Internet skills, and made their school win the Website of the Month award in the Smart Schools Program (SSP) Website of the Month Competition. The Moalboal NHS website is the best school website for the month of September.
Hosted by SSP, the ONHS official website was created and developed by the school’s webmasters, in coordination with Smart Wireless Engineering Education Program (SWEEP) faculty. The school web team, led by Moalboal NHS ICT Coordinator Arnold G. Zamora, worked hand in hand with Dennis S. Durano, a SWEEP web trainer from University of Cebu-Main.
The Moalboal NHS official website (http://moalboalnhs.smartschools.ph) features the school’s history, mission and vision and also contains information on academics, student organizations, and school activities. The site also has a section for the school alumni. The site’s simple yet well-organized layouts, and its proper use of images, are what made the Moalboal NHS website stand out in the SSP Website of the Month Competition.
The SSP “Website of the Month” Competition is SSP website’s rewards and recognition program for the SSP-hosted websites. Nominated websites are evaluated based on the content, website design, involvement of teachers and students, and website maintenance.
A “Community Choice Award” is also given to the nominee with the most number of votes earned in the Smart Schools Online Poll. For this month, the Mandaue City Comprehensive National High School (MCCNHS) website, which earned a total of 234 votes in the online poll conducted from August 16 to September 15, emerged as the Community Choice awardee. Moalboal National High School website got 4 votes; Coron School of Fisheries website, 17 votes; New Ormoc City NHS website, 32; and Tagbilaran City Science High School website, 3.
Congratulations to Moalboal National High School and Mandaue City Comprehensive National High School for a job well done!
