Handog Entries - Batch 2: Best gift for teachers --- according to students of Basilan National HS

To succeed, you will have to know what directions to take. The people around you can show you the right way. Whether they are great or lowly, still they can help you attain your goals. One of them is our dearest teachers. They were the ones who act as our foster parents at the time we are enrolled in school. As our foster parents, teachers enhance & develop the God-given talents that we have & teach us how to use them to succeed in life. In return for all of those things that they have been imparting to us, I will do my best to show them that their presence & eagerness in teaching us is worth-keeping; not by bestowing them material things but letting them realize that we can never achieve our goals if they weren't there for us. There shouldn't have been doctors if there weren't teachers guiding them & of course teaching them what to do & how to do such actions. Each step of a successful professional is due to the patience of teachers teaching inside the classroom. Through my deepest part of my heart & soul I will cherish them...'til the roads of “NEVER"... – Anthony Calixtro, 2nd year student, Basilan National High School

Aside from gaining high grades, one of the best gifts I myself can give to my teacher is loving and respecting her for she is the one who acts as our foster parent & teaches us how to deliver those good values & dispositions that she’s rendered to us… They, too, teach us how to face criticisms in life which is one of God's errands to test the faith we have in him. Our teacher is one of the proofs that God loves us…And I know that someday....through my perseverance and hope that I get from my teachers, parents & from the Almighty one....I am sure those dreams that I long for will be mine.... - Angeline L. Ramos, Basilan National High School

The best gifts that I would give to my teachers are excellence, respect and success. These are the dreams that I dedicate to my indefatigable mentors. I heartily appreciate every single act of their teachings because I know; I believe that everything they do is for the best of their students. I have lived all my life with a great respect of teachers. They serve as my inspiration and even I can not show it to them personally, I hope that in this way, they will know how they mean to me. When fate will be kind and after all of my sacrifices, when I will be someone someday ( I really hope so) or when I will be a successful professional, I will offer my success to them because I know that if not because of them, I will not have reached my dreams. I will proudly say "Dear teachers, thank you for everything you have taught me. Everything was all worth it." However, today, I will continue in my path and always follow my dear indefatigable teacher's guidance. They are my teachers — my inspirations! - Leyson San Juan, Basilan Natonal High School

Material things are not that amusing all the time. For me the best gift for teachers this coming teachers’ day is a heart full of love and care from his or her students. Giving full attention to the teachers is what they are asking for. Seeing that their students are learning from their lessons lessens their load and keeps them going. I know too well that this would make the teachers of our institution experience a lifetime feeling of pleasure that they are important, not only for students but also for the other citizens of our society. - Rhey Julio Tabada, Basilan National High School

Majority says that the hardest profession is being a teacher – with lesson plans, headaches and stress (can't imagine my self facing such problems). That's why I salute them for their outstanding work. My teachers are very special to me as a student and even as a person. They are my second parents. Without them, I am nothing in this society. Aside from teaching different subjects, they also teach me how to be a better person. The only thing that I can give them is my respect and achievements. They are decent persons so they deserved respect from their students. I know if I already achieve something they will be proud of me. They say that our achievements are also their achievements. These things make them happy. My mission to make them happy is not just for their special day...It's already forever here, inside my heart. And I am thankful that they became my teachers because they had taught me everything. I hope that they will not feel tired even if they experience a lot of struggles and challenges, they will still continue to be our inspiration and our teachers. - Alea Abubakar, Basilan National High School

When it was my first day in school, I felt bored. But because of my teachers, they have given me the courage to be aware of the things they teach us that's why I’m very thankful to have them as part of my life. For me, the best gift that a teacher can have is respect coming from their students. Also being successful in the future because we have learned much from them. It’s about time for us to be the one to return all the things they have taught us and their efforts. - Jehan Abdulmuin, Basilan National High School

I love my teachers even though they are slightly strict. I’m very much thankful that God gave me that kind of teachers because they’ve always taught me good things, even though sometimes we are so “pasaway” or naughty. The best gift that I can offer to my beloved teachers is to show full of respect, love and achievement, and most of all, to be successful in life in the future which they always pray for their beloved students. - Gladeline C. Abuan, 3rd year student, Basilan National High School

I was one of the assigned students to ask some opinion of the teachers about "What is the best gift a teacher can receive from a student?" For me, the best gift a teacher can receive from us, students, are respect, love, discipline, positive and humanitarian attitudes, and also some material gifts the symbolizes something unique, something that can last for a lifetime, and especially, something that comes from our hearts. - Fritzie Mari O. Tan, Basilan National High School

As we all know, our teachers serve as our second parents. They teach us about many things and it is just right to give them thanks. I think the best gift a teacher can receive is love and the gratitude from their students. Of course, if I will be successful in my life I'll offer this not only to my parents but also to my teachers. I'll also give her a picture of me and my classmates so we will always be in her heart. Hope she will always remember me and my classmates.– Leazelle Mae Anova, Basilan National High School

One of the most important people I respect most is the teachers. They are the ones who taught me since kinder and up to now. I think it's better if I'll give a thing that will really be memorable for her and of course I'll express my biggest thanks to her and to my other teachers too. I'll do well in my tasks and also with my studies so that she can feel better because she knows that I have learned so many things from her. According to them, our success in life is also their success. I hope that I'll be successful someday. For the gift, it's a framed picture of us together so that she will remember me always... – Sherwie Enriquez, Basilan National High School

The best gift that my teacher will receive from me is a HANDKERCHIEF. Some may think that it is so simple and cheap but for me, it is really precious. I would like to give this gift to my teacher so that whenever she will feel bad and cry and use this handkerchief to wipe her tears, she will remember that I am always here to comfort her when she is feeling bad and crying. She will remember that there was me who loved her as my second mommy, who respected her as a good teacher and always willing to listen to all her wise words as an intelligent adviser...- Bermaida Arawangsa, Basilan National High School

The best gift that I can give my teacher is also the simplest thing that he\she wants us to do – to have an interest in studying. I can offer her my time by listening to her. With respect, I can show her that she is really a big part of my life because she opens my mind so I can have some knowledge about what is happening around me. I guess being a very excellent student to her can already make it as a present for her...I believe that the best present should always come from the heart of a person so it can symbolize a true and sincere gift. I should always make her feel that her teachings are the ones that molds our personality to be good citizens someday. As you have noticed, the gifts that I can offer my teacher are not material things but instead, they are gifts from my heart so it can stay forever in her mind that he\she is really an influential person and a very significant person in my life... - John Philip Eijansantos, Basilan National High School

Usually, gifts are of material things. They may be any souvenirs which you can buy. But, there is really a best reason in giving the best gift. It may not necessarily be a material thing, 'cause the definition of a best gift is truly a thoughtful choice that will warm somebody's heart maybe, forever. It must come from the heart. For me, the best gift for them to receive is the love and respect together with my own embroidered handkerchief. The love and respect for them is the payment in return for their undying patience and perseverance in teaching us. They lead us the way by their inspiration and encouragement. They express faith in our capability to improve ourselves and be better persons. The handkerchief that I would be making with my own hands may not be high in money value, but loaded with meaning. I also hope that it will strike the responsive chords of my teachers' tender souls. I give it with my thankful heart... - Mae Anne Tan, Basilan National High School

The greatest gift that I can give for my teacher is to show my love for them like caring, respecting, obeying &also being kind because nowadays, few people are practicing these attitudes. And also I want to treat them like my parents because they are the second parents in my life. Even though they are scolding and strict, I know that they just want to guide me in the right way so that we will not repent in the future. So, I hope that I can give or show my love for them so that will be happy. I don't like to hurt their feelings because I love them as I love my parents. - Bettina Josh Sua, Basilan National High School

For me,no words can describe the persistence of a teacher to his or her student. In return for all of those immeasurable deeds that they do, we should show to them the LOVE and RESPECT they deserve. Without the teachers, the youth won’t be able to learn the things that they should learn. And of course, they have the patience to discipline us to be good citizens. "Sino pa ba ang magpapasensya sa aming mga makukulit na estudyante?" Yes, it is hard to be a student…BUT! It's harder to be a teacher. - Kharren Reyes, 2nd year student, Basilan National High School

Teachers are the ones molding us to be better persons. They are very important because they guide students in the good road to success. The best gift for a teacher is love and respect that only some students give to their teachers. Even just to greet her everyday...that let's her feel special to you...Give even just your picture to remind her about a loving and caring student who gave her a gift that lasted for a lifetime. - Justino Daniel Delos Santos, Basilan National High School

Even though were so naughty, hardheaded, “pasaway” and “kikay”, we love our subject teachers. I know all of us have their best gifts for our teachers. We all know that teachers stand as our second parents in school, who teach us what is right from wrong. Even though some of them are strict, they do it for our own good. To be successful in career, being a happy and complete family, to see them happy and of course to see them safe all the time, makes me happy too. My respect, trust, good performances, my behavior and to let them see the excellence and improvements that I have by the time they tried to help me to be nice and good person are the only things that I can give them as the best gift for them to receive. I really want to show them that all their efforts and time that was being spent just for us are enough to contain a good result for us to be successful someday in life... - Sheena Esteva, 3rd year student, Basilan National High School

The best gift that I can give to my teacher is showing her my knowledge that I've learned from what she had taught me and my classmate. I'll also show her that I love her and I'm respecting her as my second parent. I can't really give her any material thing 'coz I'm not that rich. But in this way, I'm sure that she'll appreciate my simple and special gift. - Eunice Redublo, Basilan National High School

Teachers teach us good values and to guide us in school. They are our second parents in school. They teach us to show and improve our hidden and special talents, guide us with good values. I love our advisers and subject teachers, and they love us as their own children. The best thing we, students, can give to our teachers is our full alertness in class, respect, obedience, excellence and good values as a student. I will prove to them that I have gained the knowledge they shared us. All students should always show respect to their teachers, and the teachers will always bring the memories of their students who always show them respect and love in their life. Even though we are hard-headed and naughty students, they show patience just to show us how important we are in their lives. We are their second sons and daughters and they show importance to us. And that’s the teacher I respect, our beloved teacher. - Janet A. Laguardia, 3rd year student, Basilan National High School
